Needs more anger. More mystery. 

When I was wire editor at my old newspaper, I had a strict “No Angry Arab Men” photo policy.

You keep bombarding people with one narrative long enough (especially through photos) and they tend to believe that’s the only narrative that exists.

And that’s bullshit and as journalists we ought to damn well know better. Our job isn’t to tow the company line. It’s to subvert it and find out what’s really going on.

American Islamophobia everyone, sigh.
