User Themselves faked being suicidal in order to gain sympathy (which worked on user Jumpropejellyfish, who used abuse logic and ableist language to defend Themselves.)

Tumblr support took my post down, with his address in it. They took it down. Of course, Themselves gets to get away scott free for racially harassing me, and continuing to remain in my inbox after I asked him to leave, because we all know how shitty the block feature is on tumblr. 

If you block someone when they’re not on anon, they can continue to message you on anon. If you block their anon, and you don’t have their URL blocked, they can message you that way. If you have both their anon and their URL blocked, they can either make a new block (which takes less than 5 minutes) and continue to harass you, or just continue to send you messages, which you can still recieve in your email. The way tumblr currently works, there’s no way to ensure that contact ends when you want it to. 

I asked him several times to leave me alone. I warned him several times that I would release his IP address, and if I could find it, the address that matched that IP if he didn’t stop. He continued. 

I released his information. I used the only leverage I had. And instead of tumblr support suspending his account, or reprimanding him for harassing me, they take down my post instead. 

Let’s be clear: I have never released the IP address of anyone who has not harassed me. I don’t go publishing that shit willy nilly on the fly; because apparently, according to JumpropeJellyfish, I am “unhinged” because I have been harassed, received death threats, and continue to be harassed (I don’t publish everything in my inbox) and do what I can, using the only leverage I have, to try and stop it. 

Tumblr support has never, and will never intervene on behalf of anyone who has been harassed. They continue to intervene for the “safety” of the abuser, and will never do different. 

So thank you Beth, from tumblr support for not doing jack shit to my harasser(s).
